The National Rehabilitation Institute ‘Luis Guillermo Ibarra Ibarra’ (INRLGII) will hold a continuing education course titled Evidence-Based Nutrition: Comprehensive Care in Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases \u2014 from the Clinic to the Patient’s Environment. The course aims to update health professionals on the comprehensive management of these conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sandra Hern\u00e1ndez Valencia, a specialist in the Sports Medicine Division, announced that the course will take place on May 21 and 22, 2026, in both in-person and virtual formats, and is directed at physicians, residents, nutritionists, psychologists, and paramedical personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The academic program will cover: the epidemiology of these diseases in Mexico; the relationship between sugar, sweeteners, and food addiction from a neuroscience perspective; food environments and their impact on treatment adherence; ultra-processed product consumption; diabetes education; and an analysis of weight-centrism and the importance of addressing health beyond body weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sports Medicine Division also provides care for patients with chronic non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, who require comprehensive management focused on lifestyle modification. The prescription of safe exercise, psychological support, and evidence-based nutrition are fundamental pillars for improving health outcomes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
