Nothing happens in isolation. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>1- The intestine influences the immune system<br>2- The immune system affects inflammation<br>3- Inflammation alters insulin<br>4- Insulin impacts weight and energy<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Does This Matter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Because many treatments fail by focusing on a single point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Examples:<br>1- Treating cholesterol without addressing inflammation<br>2- Treating anxiety without evaluating the gut<br>3- Treating weight without analyzing glucose<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This produces partial solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Does Functional Medicine View This?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Functional medicine evaluates how systems interact: digestive, immune, endocrine, nervous, and metabolic \u2014 and seeks to understand what is dysregulating the system as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practical Example<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A person with intestinal inflammation may develop insulin resistance, fatigue, and anxiety. It has dysregulated systems.
